Disney Cruise: The perfect family cruise

On May 15, we went on a Disney Cruise to nowhere. Yes, to nowhere...out to sea and back again.

I had never been on a cruise before and I get nauseous in the car all the time so I was extremely worried I would get sick but those Disney Cruises always caught my attention! Luckily, Disney has a 2 night cruise that leaves from San Diego, California. We packed our bags and off we went!

The awe starts the minute you see the boat on the harbor - It is a beauty! Enough detail to let you know that it is a Disney cruise without compromising the elegance and beauty. Being a Disney cruise I am sure you will not be surprised to hear that every detail was thought of. Right when you step on the boat and onto the breath taking foyer they ask you for your family name and make an announcement that you are boarding the ship. My daughter specially loved that they all bowed down to her "majesty" as she walked past. It was the perfect way to start off a magical weekend.

They have different state room options, we stayed in the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. We had 3 adults and 1 child in our party and it was plenty of room. There is a queen size bed and they would set up 2 twin size bunk style beds at night time for us and put them away for us in the morning. For an extra $60 they decorated the room with Frozen decorations for us - adding to the excitement that Chloe was already feeling. Although, the surprise was somewhat ruined when they forgot to change the blanket and pillow to Frozen and I had to call room service and got it delivered later. In a bag.

The room had a separate shower/bath and toilet area which was extremely helpful and we could each go on with our business without being in each others way. The bed was comfortable, the verandah was roomy. We had all the luxuries of a high end hotel!

Aside from the wonderful room the ship offered a number of amenities for the entire family! Chloe was given a band that would allow for her to use the children facilities the Oceaneer club and Oceaneer lab. The security procedures for this place made it so I was able to have peace of mind - you need your key to the world card (keycard) which will bring up your picture and if you are allowed to pick up the child or not and on top of that you need to give a passcode! When you are allowed to step in and pick up your child they are able to tell you their precise location thanks to the wristband.

If you do have your kid with you there is plenty going on around the boat and they will enjoy seeing the characters some which are at set locations at set times and others which you might just bump into at random times!

For the adults there are also plenty of options from Games (Bingo, Trivia, Family feud), a high end Spa, movie theater, adult pool and of course - an endless amount of FOOD. There was anything you could think of..at any time you felt like having it. Buffets, a la carte, room service, fancy food, burgers, hot dogs, ice cream..you name it they had it!

Overall, it was an amazing experience for the entire family. If you are planning to take a cruise with your kids - this is the one to take!
